Purpose of the work
It is not easy for adults learning English as a Foreign Language (EFL) to find books in modern, present-day English which are appropriate to their level of language skills. Books written for children do not appeal to the imagination of adults. Learners of EFL require books which are interesting, clearly written and enable them to extend their vocabulary as they read, without expecting them to be fully fluent in the language. This is exactly what The Lives of Joseph K the Cat is designed to do.
The Lives of Joseph K the Cat is a multi-media package, incorporating the book itself and a CD of accompanying music. Publishers, agents, film producers, music publishers etc. are invited to express interest in producing this package, which is suited for marketing around the world. There is a particularly strong requirement in China for a work of this type, but it is by no means exclusively targeted at a Chinese audience. It will be welcomed as warmly by Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) as it will by the learners themselves, whether in Europe, the U.S.A., South America, Africa, Asia or indeed any country where adults are learning English.
